October 2009
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've just realised I never hit upload after last months newsletter, so i'm combining last months and this months
because there are some good stories and reviews I don't want you to miss. It's very quiet on the Enrique front here
in the UK, but he's been a busy boy as usual and hopefully it won't be too long before he's back over here promoting
a new album.
My Special Night with Enrique… May 15th 2009.  London’s 02 Arena.
by Charlie

Where to begin. I’ve had a lot of special nights with you guys at the Just-Enrique fan club,
but this one was a little bit extra special.

I was supposed to be in block B row S or something like that, or so my ticket said,
but Claire let me sneak up front with you guys, cos the steward put me in the wrong spot,
and I didn’t want to be in the back anyway. Anyways the row in front of me was quite
empty, so I decided to jump one row ahead, and stood next to Damien and Frank, the
gay guys ahead of me. Then Enrique asked if there were any straight men in the audience.
(We All Let Out A Big Boo) Then he asked if there were any Gay men in the audience.
He asked the couple next to me to come up. When he said ‘All Three Of You Come Up”
I almost died. I couldn’t believe he asked me to come up on stage. I was eager to get up there, but when I was up
there I was SOOOO nervous. Id never been up on stage before, and I was sure I was gonna make a fool of myself.
LOL. He asked me why I was there tonight. And I naively said “Well I’m here to see you” I Mean Duh. Could that have
been more obvious? I Wish Id have said something smarter. I showed how young I really was in that moment.
When he actually sat next to me it was like I was dreaming. It felt Surreal. And he turned and looked into my face.
Time Stood Still.
For a moment in time his life was dedicated to me, if only for a split second. I will never forget the look on his face, as
long as I live. Looking only at me. Into my eyes.  (I know that sounds reaaaaaaally Gay. Lol.)
My hands were clamming up, and my jeans were falling down. I had loosened
my belt because it was too hot and sweaty in the arena. Then we had shots which
totally burned my throat, Honestly my heart was beating so hard, I thought I was
going to faint. He asked who could sing. And I said I’d sing.
He asked “You Know All My Songs”.
When the acoustic version of “Don’t You Forget About Me” started I didn’t realise
the melody. I was in a daze, and by the time my turn came around to sing,
I couldn’t remember the lyrics. So he started singing again. All of a sudden the words
came, and I grabbed that mike of him and I was singing. He kissed me on the forehead,
and did that thingy where he bows down. It felt sooo good to get praise from my idol.
Such a nice guy. That’s why I respect him.

He asked me to tell everyone to put his or her arms in the air.
He sang a chorus, and then asked me to sing again. I started singing (terribly LOL) my jeans were slipping again. Then
he put his hand on my back, and all of a sudden I was running down the runway. By the time I was at the end of the
runway I turned around and saw him running towards me. I couldn’t believe it. He lifted me up in the air (which I’m
sure wasn’t difficult. I’m as light as a twig. LOL) then we started walking back up, he turned me around to face the
audience, and we sang the final verse together. I gave him a ill kiss on the cheek, and he gave me one on the
forehead. I whispered something in his ear. Something really lame.  (But that’s just between him and me LOL.

I ran back up to the main stage, and when he got back up there we had one last hug.
He then started to sing Prince’s “Purple Rain”, it was an Amazing Night. Even more special because we were all there
together….
note from Claire - Anybody that knows Charlie, knows he is actually really very shy, so it was a miracle he got on stage to
begin with and another miracle that he sang in front of thousands of people, especially after i thought Enrique had killed
him by pouring neat vodka down his throat!

Well done Charlie - a definte highlight from the GH tour 09
An Evening with Enrique and Friends
By Wanda

.....From the moment I first learned Enrique would be performing in New York City  for the Polita Vega 50th
anniversary celebration, I knew I had  to be there, especially since Linda and Diana had first discussed on going
themselves, with Marisol joining our little group later once she knew we had an extra ticket for her. It had already
been close to 11 months since I had last seen Enrique----so why not see him again THIS year, too?.....LOL!
Although Enrique would be among many artists  performing that night, I already knew it wouldn't be a full concert
for him, but  I wanted to see him regardless! To fly all the way to NYC from Texas for that short period of time,
well, that is part of what being a true devoted fan is all about!

.....Our Friday evening started out cloudy and damp. After arriving in NYC on the train from New Jersey where
Linda lived, we soon met up with Marisol, who already lives in NYC, and Diana who came from Connecticut.  The 4
of us then checked into our shabby hotel, which left a lot to be desired (lol).......After settling in for a few minutes,
we then ventured across the street to Madison Square Gardens and walked around the entire building in hopes of
finding out if we would see Enrique arrive there soon at one of the main entrances.  We must have hung out at
the barricades for nearly an hour, where the fancy SUV's would let out all the celebrities,  and then it started to
drizzle! Of course the rain did not stop us from waiting and watching all the SUV's arrive without the chance of
maybe seeing Enrique being among them. There were even a few "false alarms" as everyone hanging out  there
would yell out and scream Enrique's name every single time an SUV would park in front!....talk about anxious to
see him!!!! The waiting crowd, including us, all laughed once we knew it wasn't  actually "HIM" stepping out of any
of those SUV's, even remarking how "late" he always was!  A few of us even "joked" about him being on the
"tour" bus that was going around the block several times during that hour, followed by a few more funny
comments that he was probably looking at us out the window of the bus, each time he had swung around, and
that he was chuckling at us "fools" waiting in the rain to see him!.......LOL! Well, of course, in reality, we knew this
was not true, but we needed something to laugh about just the same. If that were the case, in all seriousness, I
am sure Enrique would have been rather 'touched'  by all the devotion that his fans pay to him and great lengths
they go through in order to catch a glimpse of him.  At any rate, even though we missed seeing him arrive, it was
fun anticipating that we might,  and soon had to leave the barricades to go inside the venue around 7:40 in order
to find our seats while the lights were still on.

.....I cannot speak for the other girls, but since I was NOT all that interested or familiar with any of  the other
artists, with the exception of a few who would be performing that night, in addition to NOT knowing the Spanish
language all that well itself,  I will only focus on Enrique, who just so happened to take the stage, making his
beautiful grand entrance around 10:15 p.m. At first sight, he was in all his glory, shining like a true star man! As he
rushed up there on stage to begin his show, for me to see him so happy like I did, and greeting the audience with
the most gorgeous smile upon his face, well, that alone made it all worthwhile for me to fly 1600 miles just to see
HIM perform for what seemed like only a few minutes!  No sooner he took the stage,  he shouted out: "I love
F***ing New York!!!!" with the excited crowd roaring and cheering with much applause!

.....That night, Enrique only sang 3 songs---Lloro Por Ti, Nunca Te Olvidare, and Dimelo,  making the most of his
short time there as he entertained us. Unlike other concerts I have attended in the past, our seats were not all
that close to the stage, which made  it very difficult for us to take close shots of him with each our own cameras.
Luckily, I decided to take a video of Lloro Por Ti instead of taking pictures since they did not come out all that
great during Nunca Te Olvidare. A quick decision was made for me to take a video of Dimelo as well, what you can
see of it, since Enrique was busy bouncing around all over the place!....LOL!  Since there was not a catwalk
provided for Enrique or any of the performers to use, much to our surprise, while his entire audience was focused
on watching the screen ahead during  the "ping pong" lighting portion of the song, paying no mind as to what
Enrique's next moves might be, he had suddenly lunged off the stage like a bolt of lightning as fast as he could,
dashing in the dark as he made his way down that long aisle beside our floor seats and the loge, way towards the
back section of the arena to face his audience high up in the balconies there! Not surprisingly, NO other performer
had done that! The next thing I knew, everyone had suddenly turned around to focus on the spotlight where
Enrique was now standing-----atop 3 layers of black trunks or amplifiers! Everyone then quickly stood up on the
seats of their chairs to catch the "back" side of him in that direction. Yup!.....that's our beloved Enrlque for
you-----trying to reach every single fan he could, including those way in the back....I bet they were not expecting
THAT treat!....LOL!....Seconds later, a rain of confetti filled the atmosphere and I could no longer see Enrique! Oh,
but how I could hear him sing with that powerful voice of his!!  At that moment, everyone was screaming and
shouting his name  ENRIQUE on the top of their lungs, for him to look their way, including Marisol who was waving
her Enrique T-shirt like crazy for him to see it, (you can see her in the video beside me, as well as Diana and Linda
with theirs.)  I myself was waving the sign I had made especially for this concert,  but unfortunately I could not
stand on top of my chair like everyone else did in order for him to see it. Since I was not able to see him at all from
where I was standing, I heard later that he had lost his balance and slipped backwards off the amplifiers into the
arms of several fans below....I am certain they didn't mind "cushioning" his fall  when THAT happened....LOL!  Of
course, Enrique jumped right back atop those amplifiers like nothing ever happened to finish the song. Since the
entire concert was sung and spoken in Spanish, I was surprised to hear him end his performance by saying:
"Thank you all for coming and good night" in English.

.....If you want my opinion, Enrique received the loudest applause out of all the performers there that night!.....in
fact, he was THE very best performer there!---outshining them all!.....and the mum behavior from everyone
seated in the audience for the following performers, proved that!...LOL!

Hope you enjoy the few pictures  I was able to take while he was singing Nunca Te Olvidare, in the form of a
slideshow that I made, and the two videos of Lloro Por Ti and Dimelo (Part 1 and 2)  as well. It isn't much but at
least it's something to keep the memories going.

I thank Linda, Diana, and Marisol for bringing us together again, and making our fun time together Friday night of
August 28, 2009, most memorable!
